Better soil, more rain, different plants
Vadodara is easier to garden in than Ahmedabad, and that changes what we recommend. The soil is generally deeper and better draining, and the city gets noticeably more rainfall — which means species that struggle in Ahmedabad will hold here.
More rain also means more fungal pressure through monsoon. Spacing, airflow and drainage matter more here than they do further west, and beds that sit wet will lose plants.

What more rainfall changes
Vadodara gets a meaningfully wetter monsoon than Ahmedabad. That is good for establishment and bad for anything planted in a bed that does not drain. We set levels so water leaves the root zone, and we space planting wider than we would further west so air moves through the canopy.
The deeper soil profile here supports larger trees and proper lawn areas without the correction work an Ahmedabad site usually needs. It also means a wider plant palette is genuinely viable, not just theoretically.
On industrial and corporate sites near the GIDC estates we plan for dust tolerance, choosing species with leaves that shed dust rather than hold it.
